The type 8605 digital control electronics are used to control proportional solenoid control valves in the power range of 40-2000 mA. The electronics convert an external standard signal into a pulse-width-modulated (PWM) signal, which can be used to infinitely adjust the opening of the proportional valve and thus a fluidic output variable (e.g. flow). An internal current control with the duty cycle of the PWM signal as a control variable means that a specific value of the effective coil current is clearly assigned to each value of the input signal, regardless of the thermal state of the coil. Using a display and control buttons, the electronics can be easily adapted to a specific proportional valve as well as to the specific conditions of an application. In order to integrate the control and thus also the proportional valve into a higher-level control system, the CAN-based variant of the control (called büS) is necessary. The parameterization and configuration of the proportional valve can be carried out quickly and easily with the Bürkert Communicator software. In addition, the büS control electronics allow shut-off valves to be integrated into büS/CAN systems. The integrated time control function allows a shut-off valve to be opened or closed for a certain time. This is used, for example, for quantity control in filling processes. Optionally, Type 8605 can be equipped with an additional I/O board. This enables the connection of external sensors or switches. The behavior of the valve to these input signals can be configured (e.g. two-point control).
