The Bürkert conductivity meter type 8222 is suitable for measuring the conductivity of liquids.
The sensor element consists of a cell with two electrodes and a Pt1000 temperature sensor. The sensor itself is available with three different cell constants C. These are made of stainless steel for the sensors with the constant C of 0.01 or 0.1 cm⁻¹ and graphite for the sensors with the constant C of 1.0 cm⁻¹. By designing the measuring device, Bürkert simplifies installation and maintenance work.
The device type 8222 is available in two variants. The first, the so-called ELEMENT Standard, is offered either with three adjustable outputs (two digital outputs and one analog output) or with four adjustable outputs (two digital outputs and two analog outputs) and can be equipped with a display. The display is only required for commissioning, configuration (e.g. measuring range, units, calibration, limit values) or as a process value display. The second variant, the so-called ELEMENT neutrino, is a 2-wire device, without a display, with a 4–20 mA current output or with a digital communication mode that can communicate either via IO-Link or in büS (Bürkert system bus based on CANopen).
Both variants are available with a G 11/2" union nut for installation in an adapter with G 11/2" male thread sensor connection that is connected to the process. The ELEMENT neutrino variant is also available with a G 3/4" male thread for screwing into an adapter with G 3/4" female thread sensor connection.
The device type 8222 converts the measurement signal and calculates the output signals, which are provided via one or two M12 connectors in the ELEMENT standard variant or via an M12 connector in the ELEMENT neutrino variant or on a terminal block via a cable gland. The device in the ELEMENT standard variant shows different values in different measuring units (if a display is mounted).
