The Type 8098 flowmeter as part of the FLOWave product family is based on SAW (Surface Acoustic Waves) technology and is primarily intended for applications with the highest hygienic requirements. This is largely achieved with the use of suitable stainless steel materials, a measuring tube completely free of internal parts and an ideal hygienic exterior design.
FLOWave offers a number of integrated features, including the advantages of flexibility, cleanability, compact dimensions, low weight, ease of installation and handling, and is compliant with a number of standards.
Optimal measurement results are obtained in homogeneous, air- and solid-free liquids. For higher viscosity liquids, integrated viscosity compensation can be used. Gases and steam cannot be measured. However, their flow does not affect the functionality of the device. Liquids that subsequently flow back through the measuring tube are still correctly detected.
In addition to the volume flow, an optional density measurement function is available. With this option, the mass flow is calculated based on volume flow and density measurements. Special functions derived from other process values (differentiation factor, acoustic transfer factor and concentration) provide additional information about the respective liquid (see data sheet for details).
