The Type 8228 inductive conductivity meter from Bürkert is used in a wide range of industrial processes where measurements are to be taken in aggressive or concentrated media such as acids, alkalis or liquids with high salt contents and a large measuring range.
Many applications can be found here, such as cooling water monitoring (e.g. for desalination control), industrial water treatment or preparation and monitoring of cleaning media, for example in CIP processes (Cleaning in Place, CIP in English).
The Type 8228 device is available in two variants. The first, the so-called ELEMENT Standard, is offered either with two adjustable outputs (one digital output and one analog output) or with four adjustable outputs (two digital outputs and two analog outputs) and can be equipped with a display. The display is only required for commissioning, configuration (e.g. measuring range, units, calibration, limit values) or as a process value display. The second variant, the so-called ELEMENT neutrino, is a device without a display, with a digital communication mode that can communicate either via IO-Link or in büS (Bürkert system bus based on CANopen).
Both variants are available with a process connection, either via a G2 union nut for installation in a fitting type S020 connected to the process, or via a 2" clamp, according to ASME BPE (1.5" clamp on request), for CIP applications.
